<p>There are 5 early literacy practices that every parent or caregiver can do with their child to prepare them for reading later.  The five practices are reading, talking, writing, singing and playing.  Kudos to mom, Laura, for singing to her daughter and reinforcing storytime routines at home!</p>
<p><img class="alignleft" alt="" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51S4M81FTRL._SY300_.jpg" width="107" height="108" />The song Laura is singing is from <a title="Diaper gym" href="http://polaris.plano.gov/Polaris/search/searchresults.aspx?ctx=1.1033.0.0.5&amp;type=Advanced&amp;term=diaper%20gym&amp;relation=ALL&amp;by=TI&amp;bool4=AND&amp;limit=TOM=mcd&amp;sort=PD_TI&amp;page=0" target="_blank">Diaper Gym: Fun Activities for Babies on the Move</a>.</p>
