This colorful, kid-friendly book is part gardening how-to and part cookbook. The layout of the book is very accessible and easy to follow. It includes all of the information new gardeners will need. There are sections on planting seeds, watering and weeding, and finally harvesting. Color photographs show how to plant and grow 16 different vegetables followed by delicious recipes for each of them. For example, kids can learn how to grow tomatoes and then make a tomato, feta, and basil pizza. The recipes are simple and include step-by-step instructions and pictures of the finished product.
This book will appeal to kids and grown-ups who want to learn to grow and cook their own healthy vegetables.
