Raising children is often full of questions. What should you expect? Is that normal? What do you do next? And, more than anything, who do you ask for help? The Family Place Playgroup at Harrington Library offers parents and other caregivers the opportunity to ask important questions from child development experts.
Harrington Library is part of the Family Place Libraries™ national network. The Family Place Playgroup is a five-week session of fun, play-based activities for toddlers and their caregivers. You’ll have toys, books, and exploration activities each week. In addition to making new friends and spending time together with your child, you’ll also have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with specialists on various aspects of child development and early literacy. Each of the five sessions covers an important topic: early literacy; music and movement; speech, language, and hearing; child development; and nutrition.
Our next playgroup sessions will run from March 14 to April 11 at 10 AM at Harrington Library. This session is open to any parent or caregiver with a child between the ages of 0 and 3; older siblings are also allowed to attend. Want to join us? In-person sign up starts February 25 at Harrington Library. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early.
The Family Place Libraries™ designation reflects our commitment to providing a welcoming community environment with resources and experiences to help your family thrive and support a strong learning environment. In addition to our playgroups, you’ll find a specially designed play space, collections of books especially for parents and children, and librarians specially trained in child development and family support.
