Are you ready to write your book, and read it too? Working together, you and your child can create a word book that fosters discussion and collaboration. Coming up with, and reading descriptive words together will help increase your child’s vocabulary.
Associating images of the world around them with adjectives, nouns and verbs, will help your child make import connections. Label the pictures on each page and then talk to your child about the pictures. Add descriptive words your child uses in your conversation. Anytime your child thinks of more words, add them and review the book!
Alternatively, you might forgo the provided template and find your own pictures! Consider objects that begin with the letters of your child’s name, making the book uniquely theirs.
